Third Thursday Greek Young Professionals Happy Hour
17th Anniversary Edition
Gordon Biersch Brewery at Washington Navy Yard
October 18, 2018
Seventeen years ago on the Third Thursday of October, which also happened to be October 18th that year, a few Greek-American young professionals met at a Gordon Biersch at 9th and F for what became a monthly happy hour series that has visited 165 venues across DC, Maryland & Virginia across 195 happy hours. That Gordon Biersch location closed last month, but Third Thursday lives on and in honor of that first happy hour visits Gordon Biersch's Navy Yard location.
Located in Southeast Washington, south of the Capitol, along the fast-developing Capitol Riverfront and only one block from Nationals Park, Gordon Biersch is the place to be in the Navy Yard neighborhood. The 8,290 square-foot restaurant boasts a seating capacity of 226 and features a stylish dining room, outdoor patio, and a glass-enclosed brewery.

Since 2001, Third Thursday has provided Greek-Americans, Greeks, Cypriots, and Philhellenes from the Washington, DC area and beyond the chance to meet every month in a relaxed atmosphere, particularly welcoming those who have moved from different parts of the country for work or school into the greater DC area Greek community. With visits to a variety of bars, restaurants, and lounges in the most vibrant neighborhoods of DC, Maryland, and Virginia, Third Thursday is a great way to catch up with old friends and make new ones in the Greek community. We strive to maintain the simple principles of its founders while expanding the event to an ever-changing audience of Greeks in the area. We look forward to seeing you -- or meeting you for the first time -- at the next Third Thursday.
