As the snowstorm prevented us from coming together to help the homeless last month, we hope that you will join us this Monday for our Deuteri Deutera sandwich-making event.  As we try to make up for last month's loss, we are looking forward to seeing both new and returning faces there!

Monday 3/8/10: *Compline Service at 7pm and March Sandwich-Making at 8pm*

Please join us on Monday, March 8th, 2010, for our monthly Deuteri Deutera sandwich-making event at 8:00pm in the kitchen of the Meletis-Charuhas Center.  We encourage everyone to attend the Compline Service that begins that night at 7:00pm, and then sandwich-making will begin immediately following the service.  Upon the completion of the Compline Service, we will meet in the kitchen as usual.

St. Katherine’s YAL continues to help the homeless while having a good time.  Our goal for this year is not simply to make more sandwiches, but to get more people involved in this worthwhile experience.  Please make an effort to bring a new person - or someone who hasn't been to sandwich-making in a while - this Monday.

Please bring loaves of sandwich bread and packages of deli meats and cheeses in the right amounts to ensure that we do not have any leftovers of bread and meat. The ratio is 2 slices of meat per sandwich, or one slice of meat and one slice of cheese per sandwich. Ideally, each participant should bring seven loaves of bread and eleven packages of meat or a combination of six packages of meat and five packages of cheese.

If you don't have time to go to the grocery store beforehand, or cannot attend this event but would like to make a cash contribution to this worthy cause, please email Helen Spanos at [email protected] by 3:00pm that Monday, and Helen will purchase the meat and bread on your behalf for that night.

As always, after sandwich-making, we will go to a local restaurant for dinner.

We look forward to seeing you on Monday night!

Stay posted for a greater variety of YAL events coming your way in 2010!

May God bless you with His love and forever keep you in His grace.
