Plato's Academy
(Ακαδημία Πλάτωνος)
A film by Fillipos Tsitos

Trailer at MyFilm.gr

Athens, Plato’s Academy district: a small, quiet junction with three tobacco stores and a dog. The favorite hobby of the three tobacconists is counting the Chinese and Albanians, who they wish weren’t moving in across the street. Suddenly one of the tobacconist’s senile mother embraces a passing Albanian worker, calling him “my son” in Albanian. What does this character really know about his parents? Does he really have the right to sing a racist little ditty? Perhaps there is still wisdom to be found in the district of Plato’s Academy…

Not Rated • 103 min • in Greek & Albanian w/ English subtitles
