Located south of Dupont Circle, Balos cultivates a warm and welcoming environment that will make you feel instantly at home. Aristotelis Chronis | Themistocles Chronis About DCGreeks.com's Αποκριάτικο Weekέντι 2025 Join Greeks and Philhellenes from the DC area and beyond from February 20-22, 2025 for our inaugural Αποκριάτικο Weekέντι — four events over three straight days — to welcome Greek superstars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Panos Kiamos to town on Friday, February 21, 2025! With our regularly scheduled Third Thursday Happy Hour falling the night before an already spectacular alignment of Giannis and Kiamos on the same night, we decided to make it a weekend and add a brunch on Saturday morning to truly make this not just a γλέντι but a Weekέντι! Join us in DC for a unique opportunity to see both Giannis and Kiamos on Friday, extend your stay by joining us on Thursday for a Late Night Happy Hour at Balos Estiatorio, and stay for brunch on Saturday at For Five Coffee City Center's location featuring For Five Coffee Roasters signature coffee, pastries, and cocktails! To make it easier for those coming from out-of-town or locals wanting to stay downtown for the weekend, we've secured a hotel block at the AC Hotel Washington, DC Convention Center, walking distance from the Wizards-Bucks game at Capital One Arena and the Kiamos Concert at Penn Social on Friday Night, and the brunch the next morning at For Five Coffee City Center. AC Hotel Washington DC Convention Center With the Panos Kiamos concert on Friday scheduled to end at 3:00 AM, we've secured a hotel block at the AC Hotel Washington, DC Convention Center for the safety and comfort of both out-of-town and local guests. The AC Hotel is located walking distance from both Capital One Arena and Penn Social, and the hotel is willing to extend to our special group rate for Thursday and Saturday Nights as well. Since 2001, Third Thursday has provided Greek-Americans, Greeks, Cypriots, and Philhellenes from the Washington, DC area and beyond the chance to meet every month in a relaxed atmosphere, particularly welcoming those who have moved from different parts of the country for work or school into the greater DC area Greek community. With visits to a variety of bars, restaurants, and lounges in the most vibrant neighborhoods of DC, Maryland, and Virginia, Third Thursday is a great way to catch up with old friends and make new ones in the Greek community. We strive to maintain the simple principles of its founders while expanding the event to an ever-changing audience of Greeks in the area.
