Personal Statement:

I'm only a quarter Greek, but it's the strongest part of my cultural identity, despite the fact that my father is actually a second generation Polish-American (and, as a result, I am Catholic, although my mother is GO and I was raised in both). My grandmother is from Thessaloniki. I grew up in DC and I work for a software company in Arlington. I'm getting married next year to a wonderful man who not only tolerates but embraces the crazy Greekness of my family. The ceremony will be Catholic (although I'm trying to figure out how to work stefana into it) and the reception will be very, very Greek.
