A Byzantine Christmas is a musical concert that blends the glorious tradition of Byzantine hymnology, with the vibrant and joyful sounds of traditional folklore caroling. This concert aims to create an immersive cultural experience that bridges religious and communal traditions, showcasing the sacred music of the Byzantine tradition alongside local and regional caroling, spanning over the islands and mainland of Greece, all the way to the Black Sea and Asia Minor.
Experience the richness of Orthodox Hellenic devotional hymns that express the fundamental tenets of faith, tradition and communion based on holy scripture that chronicles the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Enjoy the ancient folk art of caroling, sourced in the devotional hymns and traditions of our Ancient Faith, handed down from island to mainland Greece, from Asia Minor to the Black Sea.
Celebrate with us, both ecclesiastically and culturally, as we welcome the Light of the Christ Child into the world.
A cocktail hour reception will follow the concert in the Atrium of the Frosene Center.
Come share our joy and celebrate with us, both ecclesiastically and culturally, as we welcome the Light of the Christ Child into the world.
